When I first saw Sebastiao Salgado's photo's the one thing that caught my eye was the emotion he captured in each one of his photos. I chose his photos because in each photo that I saw I felt some sort of emotion.
Photo 1:
I see the penguins waiting to slide down the ice burg into the freezing water. The penguins are most likely jumping in the water to find food. The penguins formed a line to wait their turn to slide down into the water.
I smell the fresh cool air with a sense of salt water. The freezing air has a icy smell as it is brushing against my face. As the waves splash I smell the salt water.
I hear the splashing of the waves. As each penguin slides into the water I hear a giant splash against the ice berg. I hear the sliding of the penguins on their stomach.
I taste the ice cold air in my mouth. As the air whistling in the air I get a taste of the air when I open my mouth.
I feel very cold but at the same time happy. I get to witness penguins in penguins in their own habitat and watch them as they slide on their stomach's.
Photo 2:
I see group of people walking in a desert wrapped in a blanket. I see dirt blowing in the background
almost as if it were a sand storm. I see the people's face expression as if they were asking for help.
I smell the dirt blowing all in the air. I smell the wilderness and the open fields.
I hear the whistling of the wind in the air. I hear footsteps of the people walking.
I taste the dirty taste of dirt. Every time I open my mouth I get a taste of dirt.
I feel sorrow for the people walking. They are in a desert and barefoot walking. I feel them calling out for help to me.
I think Sebastiao Salgado is a wonderful photographer. I would make a power point to preset his history about him and his work he has accomplished, including all of his amazing photos.

Mural Project Preview
1. We could do the theme of different culture. Each person at our
school has their own unique culture. I think it would be interesting to
see this in a series of pictures.
2. I think we should use phones because if we go off campus and see a unique photo that would fit the theme we could just take the photo with our phone.
3. I would like to put the murals up in the front of the school or all over the courtyard so everyone on campus could see.

Abandoned Theme Parks
The Takakanonuma Greenland in Hobara, Japan caught my eye out of all the abandoned amusements parks. If I had the opportunity to takes pictures I would not hesitate. I found the amusement park interesting because it was not open for too long. Rumors said it was haunted and that is why it shut down but others say the par just was not doing good in business. I would like to explore the park and see if it was really was haunted and I would find out by capturing some pictures.
Interesting Places:
-Haunted Place
-Asylum
-Abandoned Buildings
-Castle
-Cave
John Gray captures photos of haunted places.
In my opinions it would be interesting to take pictures of a haunted place because I could capture some very neat and rare things. Though it would be very scary and risky, I'm fascinated by haunted areas because you get a view of a different part of the world.
If i=I could visit a haunted area to take ictures

Africa
In the article, Awaiting Animals, I saw pictures of the wildlife of Africa. Also, I read about how each year more and more animals are being put in danger because of us. Nick Brandt is a photographer who captured these wonderful images.
This is one of my favorite pictures of Nick Brandt's photography because I feel like it shows love that the lions have love for each other. Also, the rule of simplicity applies to this photo because the photo only captures the subject of the photo and not much background.
Nick Brandt uses a Pentax 67ll with only two fixed lenses because he believes capturing the animals up close captures there personality and inner spirit.
Brandt captures photos f the animals to simply show them that they are in the state of being before they no longer exist.
Brandt hopes that the animals will no longer be in danger anymore.
Brandt states "There is something profoundly iconic, mythological even, about the animals of East and southern Africa. There is also something deeply, emotionally stirring and affecting about the plains of Africa..." about Africa.

Peer Reflextion
http://joshsphotojournalismblog.blogspot.com/
He followed the rule of simplicity well because he focused on the main subject.
The rule Josh did not follow too well was lines. There were no lines in the photo that led to any subject.
Overall Josh did a good job on focusing on all of his pictures. They came out looking great !
He can improve on the rule of lines

Academic Shoot Reflextion
1. I encountered a lot of challenges throughout this photo shoot. One of the biggest challenges was following all the rules correctly. I found a lot of good pictures to take but I had to constantly remind myself that it had to follow one of the rules.
2. .I found myself thinking about focusing the most. Every time I would capture a picture I would think to myslef "is this focused enough?" or "do I need to zoom in or out more?"
3. Now that I know I know the rules better I would make sure I focused on capturing each rule in each photo.
4. I would focus the same way because I feel like each photo I too were overall focused well.
5. The easiest rule to achieve would be simplicity.
6. The hardest rule to capture would be rule of thirds.
7. I'm still not clear on what the rule of thirds is. In order to understand I can look it up and see examples.

Balance
I feel like I did follow the rule of balance somewhat because the colors balance with each other and so does the enviroment. The subject of this photo is the teacher helping the students and it is clear to others what the subject is.
Rule of Thirds
I feel like I followed the rule of thirds somewhat. There are certain aspects in this photo that I feel followed the rule such as the subject of the photo is in the lower right corner. The subject of this photo is the students paying attention the the teacher. It's obvious to other people what the subject is. Something I would of done differently in this photo is following the rule more accurately and make sure I had the rule of thirds in my photo before I captured it.
Framing
In my opinion I feel that I did not follow the rule of framing too well. The subject of the photo is the students working. If people were to see my photo they would easily know what the subject was. Something different I would do to make this photo better is find a way to frame this photo rather than just taking another normal photo.
Lines
Simplicity
I feel that i followed the rule of simplicity quite well because the photo is clear and focuses on the subject. The subject of this photo is the student working. If people were to see this photo the subject would be obvious.
Unusual & Interesting Photos
Part 1:
I think Christian Ruhm did amazing on his pictures. It's a really creative idea.I think he took a photo of a building then photo shopped them.
I think the Capital Building in Austin would be a good photo to take.
